Trainer profile:
20 years' experience, Cambridge CELTA-qualified, multilingual, gives training to staff at various international governmental institutions, has vast experience in administrative and diplomatic language, both in the public and private sector.
Aim:
To perfect learners’ abilities in speaking and writing, and sharpen their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and culture.
Timetable:
90 full minutes over 30 hours
Tuesday mornings 10.30-12.00
Thursday afternoons 16.00-17.30
Other times are available - just ask.

10% reduction for group bookings of 3 to 5 people

- all tenses and forms in past, present and future (i.e. simple, continuous, perfect, other forms)
- coming to terms with phrasal verbs (intermediate to upper levels)
- using prepositions, linking words, adjectives and adverbs
- being able to use appropriate grammar in various contexts (administrative writing, correspondence, conversations, meetings, presentations, etc.)
- using auxiliary verbs correctly in the past, present and future
- participants’ choices, based on needs
Vocabulary:
- building up a repertoire of synonyms for use in various situations
- using linking words and discourse markers in the correct context
- common collocations, idiomatic expressions, metaphors, etc.
Writing (based on needs):
- administrative: reports, records, information, etc.
- correspondence conventions: emails, letters, etc.
- academic writing
- words and phrases used on a frequent basis in various areas of life and work
- punctuation, spelling and paragraphing
Speaking:
- pronunciation and intonation: sentence stress, unstressed syllables and words
- moving stress patterns in speech
- giving presentations and speaking in professional situations
Cultural aspects:
- it is always beneficial to learn about the cultural side of the country whose language you are learning. For that reason, we will choose collectively from a range of areas to spend some of the time, such as regional landmarks, the media and literature, towns and cities, important buildings that had a historical impact, or influential people

- effective communication - putting forward arguments, proposals and suggestions
